Members of the Danbury Police Department were dispatched to Ryders Lane at approximately 7:35 a.m. on Thursday morning, where there was a report of two men attempting to enter parked cars in the area.
Officers were able to eventually track down two 17-year-old suspects, who were taken into custody. The investigation into the incident found that the pair were in possession of stolen items from several overnight break-ins and they were subsequently arrested.
The two teenagers were charged with criminal attempt of larceny, conspiracy to commit burglary and two counts of larceny. One of the two was additionally charged with credit card theft and possession of marijuana.
Police said that one of the teenagers had recently been released from juvenile detention days earlier, and he was remanded into custody. The second was released and is due in court at a later date.
“As the greater Danbury area is continuing to experience car break-ins and thefts from motor vehicles, all residents are reminded to keep their cars locked and to secure their valuables,” police said.
